Notice of Overnight Water Service Interruption

Post Date:July 18, 2017 12:00 PM

The City of Fort Lauderdale plans to perform scheduled maintenance on water valves in downtown Fort Lauderdale. In order to minimize the impact to neighbors, work will be conducted overnight, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Homes and business in the impacted service area (properties located within the red boundary shown in the map below) may experience temporary overnight water service interruptions or low pressure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, July 24 until Thursday, July 27, 2017.

The City of Fort Lauderdale in consultation with the Florida Department of Health in Broward County will issue a PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE effective 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 to the affected properties. The Precautionary Boil Water Notice will be in effect until bacteriological tests show that the water is safe to drink. The City will notify the affected properties when it is lifted.

Residents are advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled before use. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

Residents will have full accesses to their properties while work is performed. Please call the 24-Hour Neighbor Service Center at 954-828-8000 for more information.
