Welcome to the City of Fort Lauderdale Housing and Community Development Division (HCD) website. HCD is a division of the Department of Sustainable Development.
The City of Fort Lauderdale is an Entitlement Municipality / Jurisdiction / Grantee for the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC). HCD administers a variety of local, state and federal funds designated for housing, community and economic development activities and programs that assist eligible low and moderate-income residents within the City.
HCD plans, develops and implements programs and activities that meet identified needs in the community such as home ownership, owner-occupied housing rehabilitation, small business assistance, public service activities for non-profit organizations, public facilities and improvements and assistance to persons with HIV/AIDS.
The Federal and State programs currently managed by this division include:
- Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
- Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME)
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids (HOPWA)
- State Housing Initiatives Program (SHIP)
