ITS Strategic Plan

Print
The Information Technology Services (ITS) Department began working on a citywide Information Technology Services Strategic Plan in 2012. Historically, Information Technology functions were divided among various departments, which resulted in silos throughout the City. A citywide plan was needed to consolidate and centralize needs for all departments.

Developing a sound strategy was a major effort that required improving the management process and pairing it with a clear and comprehensive vision that anticipated future needs and technology trends.

Today, the plan guides the projects of the Information Technology Services Department. It is a living document that is reviewed annually and is updated as needed. It also helps develop long-term strategies to ensure sound investments in software and equipment that will meet tomorrow's needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The strategic plan also outlines specific performance metrics that reflect new and innovative approaches for technology.

The ITS Five Year Strategic plan 2012-2017 includes overviews, SWOT analysis, strategies, goals and objectives to advance the department's Vision, Mission and Goals. Click here to read the entire ITS Five Year Strategic Plan: ITS Strategic Plan pdf
