Monthly Parking Permits
Monthly parking permits are sold on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. A permit does not guarantee that there will always be a parking space available. Monthly permits are not assigned a specific space. The City has sole discretion to sell, renew, not to renew, or recall any monthly permit based on availability of space. If the City determines that it cannot continue to renew current permits, or sell additional monthly permits, because of overcrowding in the permit, then the City shall notify those customers with the most recent initial application date and advise them that their permits will not be renewed until such time as space becomes available.
Each parking permit has the calendar month numbers 1 through 12, designating the month the permit is valid. The month number displayed on the permit must match the month that it is in. For example, in January, month number 1 must be displayed; in February, month number 2 must be displayed, etc.
The permit is valid only through the last day of the calendar month represented. A current permit must be displayed by the first day of every month.
A current parking permit must be completely and clearly visible at all times while parked. If the permit is a decal, it must be displayed on the driver's side of the FRONT windshield at all applicable lots and garages except City Park Garage and Bridgeside Square, where it must be displayed in the REAR windshield on the driver's side. If the permit is a hangtag, it must be hung from the rearview mirror with the printed side facing out so it can be read from the front of the vehicle. Permits displayed in any other location in the vehicle will not be honored. Permits are valid ONLY at the location noted on the permit. City-issued permits shall not be copied, reproduced, resold for more than face value, or altered in any manner. Permit use may be revoked if the City receives evidence of improper use of the permit.
Permits will only be honored in valid permit parking spaces. In locations that have areas or spaces designated as "Permit Only," such as the City Park Garage, permits are NOT valid in metered spaces or other areas outside of the permit-only area, and vehicles parked in non-permit spaces will be cited for overtime parking. If permit-only spaces are full and the vehicle is parked in a metered space, the meter must be paid.
Citations will be issued without exception for any violation of the above rules.
