Public and Recreational Recycling

Recycling BinWhether you are at the beach or at a ballpark, recycling a soda can or water bottle should be easy and convenient. The City of Fort Lauderdale wants to make recycling easier than ever by expanding the number of public places where you can recycle. Look for the big blue recycling container at any of the following locations:

  • A1A and Las Olas, Public Parking street side
  • South Beach, by overpass at picnic area parking lot
  • Holiday Park, on the west side of train/playground, in front of the ball fields and next to the tennis center
  • Oswald Park, by the golf course
  • Mills Pond Park, inside baseball field and by the football field.
  • Snyder Park, just north of the front office
  • George English Park, next to the boat ramps and the tennis center

The blue containers are designed to hold the following types of recyclables:

  • Plastic bottles with the number 1 or 2 on the bottom (water, soda, sports drink, etc.)
  • Aluminum cans (soda, beer, etc.)
  • Bi-metal or steel cans (food cans, etc.)
  • Glass bottles and jars (soda, beer, etc.)
  • Juice boxes
