Original Notice (February 2, 2024):
Bayview Drive north of Commercial Boulevard remains closed to all traffic. The City has engaged the services of a contractor to evaluate the condition of the sanitary sewer system in the area, complete any necessary repairs, and reopen Bayview Drive.
After exposing the site, the initial assessment showed more extensive damage than originally anticipated. A bypass system has been set up to direct the sewage flow toward the City’s wastewater treatment plant and maintain services for impacted residents.
City staff are working alongside the contractor’s crews and expect to complete the analysis this week, including a schedule of upcoming repair and restoration activities. However, it is expected repairs will not be completed to allow the roadway to be reopened for four weeks.
