Be part of the excitement on Friday, December 6th from 5:00 - 9:00 pm when Historic Sistrunk Boulevard comes alive at the 13th Annual Light Up Sistrunk event. This FREE holiday spectacular takes place along Sistrunk Boulevard between NW 9th and NW 11th Avenues and offers activities for the entire family. Highlights include:

TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  Sistrunk Boulevard to be Temporarily Closed

from N.W. 9 Avenue to N.W. 12 Avenue on Friday, December 6th 

Fort Lauderdale – Beginning Friday, December 6 at 9:00 AM, Sistrunk Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale will be closed between N.W. 9 Avenue (Powerline Road) and N.W. 12 Avenue to allow crews to set up for the annual Light Up Sistrunk event.  The three-block stretch of roadway will reopen at 1:00 AM on Saturday, December 7. 

While the closure is in effect, traffic will be detoured around the affected area via the following routes: 

• Eastbound traffic on Sistrunk Boulevard will be detoured using N.W. 13 Terrace (northbound) to N.W. 7 Street (eastbound).

• Westbound traffic on Sistrunk Boulevard will be detoured using N.W. 9 Avenue (Powerline Road) (southbound) to N.W. 5 Street (westbound). 

Signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the detours.  Motorists should expect delays in and around the affected area.
