39th Annual International Coastal Cleanup

Broward County participates in the 39th annual International Coastal Cleanup, sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy. The Cleanup takes place in over 122 countries with over one million volunteers participating worldwide.

๐Ÿ“ง Email coastalcleanup@broward.org to register for this year's cleanup event. Please include your name, contact information, organization, site at which you wish to participate, and number of attendees.
๐Ÿ“ Download, print, and sign the Coastal Cleanup Liability Release Form and bring it to the registration table at the site you are attending.

What to bring:
๐Ÿงข Attire: wear a hat, gloves, and sunscreen.

๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated: bring water.
๐Ÿชฃ Avoid single-use plastic bags: if available, use a 5-gallon bucket from home to collect trash.

Participating sites in Fort Lauderdale:
๐ŸŒŠ Oakland Park Blvd. โ€“ Sign in at Earl Lifshey Ocean Park located at the end of Oakland Park Blvd., east of A1A. Limited parking is available at the lot on the SE corner of A1A and Oakland Park Blvd. 
๐ŸŒŠ Hugh Taylor Birch State Park โ€“ When you arrive at the gate, tell park personnel you are participating in the Coastal Cleanup. At the first STOP sign make a right for parking at the Hammock Lot. Registration is at the picnic tables by the marina before the Park & Ocean Restaurant. For Park waivers:

  • Group Volunteer Form  โ€“ Group leaders need to sign this form; participants only need to add their names (no emails and phone numbers required).
  • Short Term Volunteer Agreement  โ€“ All participants over the age of 15 will need to sign this form in order to be able to participate.

๐ŸŒŠ Fort Lauderdale Beach โ€“ Registration table is at South Beach Park, at the picnic tables north of the restrooms. Parking enforcement has been suspended for the duration of the cleanup, at the Beach Lot (700 Seabreeze, Fort Lauderdale).
