Public Works is a large provider of infrastructure services in Broward County and is responsible for delivering many of the critical services and programs that affect the daily lives of our neighbors. The department also produces high-quality drinking water, collects and treats wastewater, manages solid waste through recycling, garbage, and yard waste, oversees construction projects that provide direct neighborhood benefits, including streets, drainage, sewers, parks, buildings, parking facilities, fire stations, streetscapes, neighborhood improvements, and more.
The Public Works Department is committed to operating in a sustainable manner that includes increased recycling, improved stormwater management, environmental enhancement, and effective fleet maintenance.
The Public Works Department is made up of three divisions: Engineering, Sustainability, and Utilities.
