The City’s Information Technology Services (ITS) Department is building community in Fort Lauderdale by giving our neighbors new, efficient, innovative, and resourceful ways to access and participate in local government while creating operational efficiencies in government services.
The ITS Department is a centralized internal service provider responsible for securely delivering high quality, resilient, and value-driven, technology and communication solutions to all city departments, charter offices and external state and local government agencies.
Guided by innovation, business goal alignment and service excellence; ITS oversees the strategy, management, and execution of technology services for the City including Enterprise Technology Infrastructure (Cloud and On-Premise Data Centers), Network, Storage, Compute, Telephony, Mail, Copy and Print Shop Services, Audio/Visual and Live Streaming Services, ERP, GIS, Business and Mobile Applications, Service Desk and Desktop Support Services, Mobile Technology (iPad, cell phones, fingerprint scanners) as well as Public Safety Technologies including Automatic Vehicle Locators (AVL), License Plate Readers (LPR), Body Worn Camera, Mobile Command Vehicle, Security Surveillance and mission-critical Radio and Wireless Communication networks for emergency responders and external state and local government agencies.
The Department has 50 technical and 26 non-technical full-time employees (76 total), with a budget of $26 million. ITS is comprised of 4 divisions, (1) the Office of the CIO, (2) Data and Digital Services, (3) Security and Governance and (4) Infrastructure and Operations.
