African Wardrobe Festival to Celebrate African Fashion, Arts and Culture for a 2nd Year 2016 African Wardrobe Festival

The #AfricanWardrobeFestival announces that it will return to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a day of African fashion, food, music, workshops and panelists. Taking place at the historic Old Dillard Museum located at 1009 NW 4th Street, the festival will feature local and international speakers, the latest African fashions and art exhibits. The festival will take place Saturday November 5, 2016 starting a 1:00 p.m. with a media and artist meet and greet for VIPs.

“We are excited to introduce a higher level of engagement this year with new workshops, new speakers and drumming classes,” said Creative Director Jaury Jean-Enard. “The cultural and artistic experience the festival brings is like spending a day in Africa,” he added.

The festival will include a best dressed in #AfricanWardrobe competition. The categories for best dressed will be males, females,and couples. Winners will be decided by the panelists and get pictures taking with the artists and speakers. The art exhibit will feature works from local artists in the tri-county area reflecting African traditions, culture, and heritage. A silent auction will also be held among the several African-inspired paintings.

The attendees will have an interactive Q&A session with the panelists following the screening of a documentary entitled “Africa Straight Up” produced by Africa.com
