The City of Fort Lauderdale will be conducting a mock fuel spill* training exercise on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 9 a.m. until noon. The exercise will take place at the Fort Lauderdale Central Garage Fuel Station, just east of S.W. 14th Avenue and south of W. Broward Boulevard behind the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
The City is conducting this exercise as part of the Environmental Sustainability and Management System (ESMS) initiative to monitor and measure the City’s response to a potential hazardous material incident at the fuel station.
The exercise is not expected to impact the City’s neighbors, but some may notice an increase in public safety personnel and vehicles in the area. Neighbors may also experience slight traffic delays on S.W. 14th Avenue near the entrance of the fuel station.
For more information, please call the 24-hour Customer Service Center at 954-828-8000.
