As of January 1, 2024, LP / Contractor updates will no longer be accepted through email or physical mail. Updates must be submitted through LauderBuild using the Contractor Document Update application.

Contractor Registration

Contractors (LP's) may submit a new registration application online at LauderBuild.

The following documents must be uploaded with your application to ensure the licensed professional is certified to apply for permits in the City of Fort Lauderdale.

  • Contractor Registration Form
  • State License OR County Certificate of Competency
  • Liability Insurance
  • Worker's Comp Exemption Letter OR Certificate

Contractor Updates

All applicable license and insurance documents must remain updated to ensure the licensed professional's status is current with the City. Contractors with expired credentials will not be issued permits or be able to pay fees.

Documents updates must be submitted online at LauderBuild. Please ensure each document is saved as a separate PDF  and only submit updates for the documents that are expired. Please view the LauderBuild FAQ page for details on how to update documents.

Contractor / LP License Lookup

Neighbors and Contractors (LPs) may also visit LauderBuild to do a Licensed Professional Search to see if a license is registered with the City or to run a report to check the expiration of the documents. To run the report, select Reports from the navigation, then select LP License Status.

Licenses cannot be searched for, added to an application or be linked to an account until the license is registered with the City and all documents are current. Expired licenses aren’t searchable in the system. LP / Contractor licenses may be connected to your LauderBuild account under the Account Management settings.
