All communication relating to vacation rental is maintained via email (VacationRental@fortlauderdale.gov). The renewal deadline for certification is August 1st and all certificates expire September 30th of every year. The City of Fort Lauderdale Business Tax License expires September 30th and requires renewal. The City Business tax renewal fee is $157.50 and is invoiced separately from the vacation rental renewal fee.
A $75.00 LATE FEE IS ASSESSED TO ANY VACATION RENTAL RENEWAL APPLICATION NOT SUBMITTED OR INCOMPLETE BY THE RENEWAL DEADLINE.
APPLICATIONS NOT COMPLETELY SUBMITTED AND PAID BY THE EXPIRATION DATE (SEPTEMBER 30th ) ARE PROCESSED AS NEW APPLICATIONS ($350.00 APPLICATION FEE) AND A NEW INSPECTION IS REQUIRED INCLUDING OWNER OCCUPIED PROPERTIES.

2. Upon receipt of a complete renewal application, the renewal fee is invoiced, and an email sent to the applicant with their City of Fort Lauderdale vacation rental record number and the link to pay. |

3. A Code Inspector will reach out to schedule an inspection once the renewal fees are paid. Utilize the Inspection Checklist to prepare for the inspection. |
