The Organizational Development &Learning (ODL) team is responsible for assessing, designing, and implementing learning resources, and supporting organizational development initiatives to further the mission of the City of Fort Lauderdale. The team supports leadership throughout the City with efforts to build a values-based organization committed to developing and retaining qualified employees. The City is always excited to have great talent join the organization and ODL facilitates the City’s comprehensive orientation for all new full-time employees. New Employee Orientation provides an overview of key functions throughout the organization and other important information such as employee benefits.
To fit the needs of a multi-dimensional workforce, ODL develops and facilitates professional development opportunities that are diverse in scope and accessibility which include experiential workshops, traditional instructor-led classes, micro-learning, cohort programs, on-demand learning tools, a prolific virtual library of learning solutions, and other customized resources. The City also encourages continued learning through degree or certification programs and offers an approval process for tuition reimbursement.
