Project Summary:

The City of Fort Lauderdale is designing and constructing the following drainage infrastructure within the Melrose Manors and Riverland Civic Neighborhoods: drainage pipe and structures, exfiltration trench, water quality structures, pump station, water & sewer line relocations, pavement and swale improvements.  This project is partially grant funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).

Project Status:

The City’s Design Consultant, HDR Engineering Inc., has completed all preliminary design activities associated with Task Order #1.  Task Order #1 preliminary design activities includes; stormwater modeling, environmental studies, data collection efforts (survey and subsurface investigations) and permit agency coordination.  Also, HDR Engineering has nearly completed all preliminary construction plans via Task Order #2.  Additionally, City Staff is negotiating a permanent drainage pipe easement with a private property owner in order to construct a drainage outfall pipe on their property.  Lastly, Task Order #3 has been approved and HDR Engineering has commenced work on the preliminary final construction plans.

In addition to HDR’s design activities, City Staff have installed temporary stormwater drainage structures within the Melrose Manors and Riverland Civic Neighborhoods to alleviate localized flooding.
